My love for animals began in childhood. My family growing up had a dog and several cats who I loved taking care of.
At 16, I started working at McMonigle Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Assistant. After graduating high school, I got promoted to a Veterinary Assistant. I graduated with a Veterinary Assistant Certificate from San Juan College in 2021.
I remained at McMonigle Veterinary Hospital until 2021 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science at Western Washington University in Bellingham. In Bellingham, I worked as a Kennel Assistant at Northshore Veterinary Hospital to support my studies.
In total, I have worked in the Veterinary Field for 8 years. I have extensive experience caring for senior pets and pets with special needs. I also have experience giving medications (injectables, pills, etc!).
At home, I have two cats, an axolotl, and a crested gecko. In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, watching TV, exploring outdoors, and reading. I got married in 2022 and my husband is in college for Cloud Computing. He loves meeting all the new cats that come to stay with us!
My Cats
Shamu is shy at first but once she feels comfortable with you she is very affectionate. She loves to be pet and sit on your lap. Shamu is very food-motivated and will try to steal other cats food. She does not mind cats. However, she is more laidback and only likes to play with her favorite human (me!). Shamu is indoor-only.
Tili is a feisty boy who is very particular about his routine. He prefers to have his own space and have pets and playtime be on his terms. Tili does not like cats who get up in his personal space which can result in hissing/swatting. However, if the cat minds his personal space he is perfectly fine sharing his home. Tili is indoor-only.
Fun Fact: Both my cats are named after captive Orcas!
